My One Thing: Five Minute Friday Post

So, the Five Minute Friday word today is One. Immediately my mind started asking--One what?

The one habit I want to establish right now? Writing every day...no, wait...making sure I plan out our menus so I have more time to write...no, maybe it's

The one person I would spend one hour with, one more time.  My mom, definitely.  It's been 13 years since we could chat.  But maybe it would be my mother-in-law who has been gone 12 years.  I have a whole passel of questions for her about my husband that hadn't occurred to me after only 7 years of marriage to him.

The one place I would go? Oh, that's easy.  Bishop, California, the Eastern High Sierras.

The one gift I would relish for Christmas?  Easy too--One day, all to myself, with no meals to plan, no papers to grade, no agenda.  Or well, maybe, it would be my husband being able to sort and get rid of one thing.

And my timer goes off as one after another my children emerge from their rooms and our day needs to get underway.  Rich Mullins' "One Thing" starts running through my head.

Matthew 6:33:  But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
