A visit with Grandma B.

We stopped in Racine on the way home from Milwaukee to visit with Ray's grandma. We can't turn down an invitation to tea, especially when she makes chai. She had pulled out some photo albums from their time as missionaries in India. Along with pictures of their houses and transportation, we enjoyed the many pictures of Ray's mom and aunts. At first it was just Ray and his grandmother looking at the albums. Then Katie left off watching for the cuckoo to emerge from the clock and was drawn to the couch.

Then Benjy wandered over and wanted to see the pictures of Grandma, Aunt Marilynn, and Aunt Nancy as little girls.

Finally they all gathered around as she told stories and shared memories of traveling 1000 miles to take Judy and her sisters to the boarding school, of picnics along the side of the road, of the 60 mile trip to the elementary boarding school that took 3 hours over rough roads, and of the people who shared their lives and faith in a foreign land.
