Our schoolroom

This room sold the house for me. I wanted a room where I could hold my tutoring classes as well as teach our kids. This walkout room fit the bill perfectly. I love all the windows, even if they are drafty in the winter. What you can't see are the toys stacked at the other end of the room. This also serves as our playroom. Someone recently suggested using half-height bookcases to divide the toys from the school area, and mount a blackboard across the backs. I like that... We also have woodstove that we hope to use next winter to combat the cold.

This is my desk/computer area. It's a disaster right now. I have papers from this past year's classes to sort and pitch, as well as a stack of books for next years literature co-op classes ready to be added to my class schedules. We are doing 2 or so hours of school each day this summer. The rest of the day is blocked off for organization and cleaning. Since we just moved in here in October of last year, I'm giving myself a year to get fully organized before I start feeling guilty.

The easel whiteboard has served us well these past 5 years, but my wonderful hubby just brought home the one hiding behind the table. It is a real whiteboard, not even a piece of showerboard like I was willing to live with. God provides in awesome ways. Ray's office was clearing out what wasn't needed (who doesn't need whiteboards!?) and we got this one. It fits perfectly between the two windows. I shouldn't be so surprised. If God knows the hairs on our head, He knows how big my whiteboard needs to be! We serve an awesome God. Even after 9 months, I still praise him when I think of all we have here in the house. It is SUCH a gift!
