Home Again

We are enjoying a quiet Father's Day at home this year. My dad is away on business, we couldn't manage another trip around the lake to WI to see Ray's dad, and we turned down the invitation to friend's in order to just be home for a while. Since the beginning of May we have been home only two weekends. When I asked my dear husband what he wanted to do for Father's Day, he said he just wanted to be home. So after a lunch of brats and burgers, with shortbread and ice cream for dessert, the children began playing, Ray called his dad, and I went for a walk. With all the birthdays and other celebrations this month, my exercise/healthy eating routine is on a downward slope. I'm looking forward to establishing our summer routine now and getting my weight down again.
As of this weekend, we are done with homeschool conventions for IEW. It's a relief, but also a little sad, as we enjoy the chance to get away, talk with other homeschool families and see all the wonderful curriculum that is available to us. With the economy the way it is, sales were lower than past years, so we are trusting God to provide in other ways what he didn't through the commissions on sales. He has always taken care of us and will continue to show His goodness to us. I am sure of that.
